About the Activity
Experience authentic rural life on Lake Titicaca by spending the night with a local family on the serene island of Amantani. This activity also includes visits to the floating islands of Uros, where you can marvel at the craftsmanship of the reed islands and boats, and Taquile Island, known for its stunning panoramic views and vibrant, handwoven textiles. Stroll through these picturesque islands, interact with the indigenous communities, and delve into the unique history and customs of the region.

We can arrange a meeting point in the city center (historical center), or we can provide a transport for an additional cost.
The tour lasts approximately 20 minutes and is optional, it has a cost of 4 USD per person. If you wish to take the service you must coordinate with the inhabitants of the islands.
You will have a private room, but please note that the accommodation is rustic and basic:
- The room is not heated, blankets are used to keep warm.
- Electricity comes from solar panels and is used only for light, so there are no plugs available in the room. It is necessary to carry charged devices.
- The bathroom is located outside the room, so it is recommended to bring water and personal hygiene items.
This activity is focused on experiencing the real rural life of the locals on Lake Titicaca, and the accommodation is far from a hotel or similar service. You should be prepared for unconventional conditions. Our staff has all the first aid equipment in case of any emergency.

Food on the islands of Amantani and Taquile will be prepared by the locals using local Andean products. Since the islands have limited resources, the diet is based mainly on potatoes, Andean tubers, vegetables, quinoa and trout. Vegetarian options are also available.
